After four years of preparation, you'll be ready to join our top ensemble.
Marching Season
In supporting our school and community, the Ranger Band gets right to work during the Summer with our Home and Away Band Camps. The entire season includes all football games, two marching competitions, and MSBOA Marching Band Festival.
If our football team is doing particularly well, we will travel with the football team during the playoff season!
The Ranger Marching Band also makes appearances during the Dowagiac Christmas Lights and Memorial Day parades.
Concert Season
When marching season comes to a close, we shift gears into concert band season. You can expect our concert schedule to look something like this:
Mid December: Winter Holiday Concert Early March: District Concert Band Festival May: Cassopolis Music Program Area Concert
Solo and Ensemble
Students with the know-how and the elbow grease have the opportunity to participate in our District's S&E Festival in February. This competition allows students to test themselves and their peers in front of judges to receive a rating of I through V. Medals are awarded to students who receive a I or II.
Extra Opportunities
In the State of Michigan and MSBOA District VI, students have many opportunities to audition for various honors bands, which include but are not limited to the District VI Honors band, and the Michigan All-State Honors Band.
Students will be notified when audition dates are approaching, Audition materials will be made available when appropriate.
