Mr. Sean Keck graduated from Western Michigan University in December of 2014, with degrees in Instrumental Music Education and Instrumental Music Performance. This is his first job as a band/choir director. Prior to accepting this position, he completed intern work at multiple educational establishments in the Western Michigan area, including Mattawan Public Schools, Kalamazoo Central Public Schools, and Otsego Public Schools, under the observatory supervision of Dr. John Lychner and Dr. David Montgomery.
Prior to graduating, Mr. Keck served four years in the WMU Bronco Marching Band. Three of these years were spent with the WMU Drumline (and of those three, he spent two as the bass drum section leader) and a fourth with the WMU trombone section. Beyond Marching Band, Mr. Keck held the title of principal percussionist for WMU's Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Orchestra at various points throughout college. Outside of college, he has performed with multiple musical productions on the East and West sides of the State, including WCSPA and the Barn Theatre.
He now lives in Three Rivers with his wife, Kaitlin Black, who is the band director in Mendon. Mr. Keck thoroughly enjoys playing old-school video games on his incredibly outdated console systems, reading mystery novels, and being generally horrible at most woodwind instruments.
